DD 11 months has had a constant cold and runny nose for at least 4 months. The weeks seem to go like this:

-Tuesday- nursery day- wake up with crusty (sorry if TMI) but otherwise clear nose. Seem well. Go to nursery.
-Friday- wake up with 2 clear constant streams of snot which don't stop.
-Saturday- snot continues but no longer clear. Cough starts.
-Sunday- miserable all day. Nose constantly runs.
-Tuesday- nose has stopped running, back to nursery.

She's only been at nursery since early January and goes Tuesday and Wednesday. Friday and yesterday she has also been copiously sick several times (including during the night). We've had this twice before and been to doctor only to be told it's viral.

We go to Toddlers and the other babies there have the occasional runny nose, but not every week like my DD. Why can't she shake it off?

We had the same thing with dd at that age.

I had to take her to the doc over something else, and I asked his advice. He told me that there are aroud 200 different vuruses that cause a cold, and that little ones will keep on getting them until they are immune to lots.

Horrid though.

No answer just to say my 15 month old daughter is exactly the same. started nursery last september and has had a runny nose virtually ever since. It'll dry up for like a week 2 weeks then it is back.

As it never seems to bother her i haven't taken her to the docs - i just have to follow her round with a tissue!

Same problem here and the GP always says it is a Virus. I believe it is worse when DD is teething as that always gives her a runny nose as well.

That was no help at all I know but perhaps knowing she is not alone will help

Well it's reassuring that others have been through it. I don't remember my other kids being like this and with everyone at nursery not having permanent snotty noses made me wonder if there was more too it.

200 viruses!

littlelapin she drinks no dairy as she's still BF but some of the food has it. I wonder if it's worth me trying without?
