Is this athlete's foot? (With photo)

Ds has this crack between his toes and it's all red and sore. Is this athlete's foot? And if so what's the best thing to treat it with?

Typically he's told me today when it's a bank holiday and our local pharmacy is closed.

Is there something we can buy in the supermarket?

Most likely, athletes foot creams can be bought from most supermarkets

Goodfuckingriddance · 01/05/2023 09:32

Has it been itchy at all?

dementedpixie · 01/05/2023 09:35

He says it's a bit itchy and quite sore. I don't think we've got anything useful in the house but we can go to a supermarket and pick something up today.

Great. Also look into ways to prevent re-infection and spreading to other areas like groin (jock itch). Hand washing, laundry temperature, etc.

Classic place for athletes foot, as that bit rarely gets dried after showers etc. I have it there repeatedly.

  • dry really thoroughly after shower/swimming etc but not using towel that will be used for anywhere else (I use a wad of loo roll)
  • slather it in canestan (thrush cream) a couple of times a day.
  • then keep it away by always dying well after showers (which I forget to do, hence it returning!!)
