Very fine rash comprised of thousands of tiny spots as well as 'classic' chickenpox????

DD has now had chickenpox for 5 days. Yesterday she suddenly developed hundreds of tiny spots 'underneath' the chickenpox lesions which were already there. her skin on her torso is now almost completely covered, although these new spots do not yet seem to have 'come up' the way the chickenpox spots have iyswim?

Dp took her to the doctor last night because she had developed a spot on the rim of her eyelid, touching her eye. she was prescribed ointment for the eye and dr apparently said something along the lines of 'it's not the number of spots that matters' to dp.

DD seems pretty well in herself, running around, v happy, lots of energy, so i'm quite puzzled as to what this additional rash could mean. Have anyone else's dcs experienced this? I can't help worrying about possible complications like meningitis/septacaemia etc... She's nearly 2 by the way, if that helps.

It sounds like a viral rash - v common and nothing to worry about. Hope she gets better soon!
