Has anyone ever taken Ferrograd C?

I've been suffering from thinning hair for a while now and recently had some blood tests that showed that although my ferritin levels are technical normal, they are not at an optimum level for hair growth.

So it's been recommended that I take Ferrograd C for 4 months. I've found iron quite constipating in the past so am wondering if the same will happen with Ferrograd?

Apparently the vitamin C means that it shouldn't, and I eat a lot of fibre anyway, but I've suffered from piles on and off for years so I don't really want to aggravate those!

I took it for a while and, I have to say, it did wonders for me. But it is a big dose of iron and, for the first couple of weeks, it did give me stomach ache that lasted for an hour or so each day. After that point my system adjusted to it and it was fine. It might be worth eating something with it to make it more gentle on the stomach (not dairy, as that limits absorption))

Also, I didn't have constipation but it does give you very black poo!

I've also been advised to take L-lysine with it to help the absorption. I take probiotics anyway plus magnesium and vitamin D but I might start taking those in the evening instead.

I've seen that you can get transdermal iron patches now which seem like a great idea but I'm
not sure if it's the same type of iron.
