I Googled my symptoms and scared myself!

I've been under the weather for a couple of days (not unusual for me, unfortunately) and assumed it was another mild virus.

This evening I noticed a rash over my arms and suddenly remembered it was one of the potential side effects of Allopurinol, that I started two weeks ago. Got the leaflet out and it says to see a Dr straight away.

I spoke to a Dr on NHS111 and was reassured that it's probably a mild rash, treatable with antihistamines. He went through a list of potentially serious symptoms that I'm to call 999 if they appear. All fine and reassuring. Hives is all over my back now, but otherwise ok. Antihistamines turn me into zombie, which is inconvenient for me and hilarious for everyone else.

Then I went and bluddy Googled it! Stevens-Johnson syndrome. There it is... images of people in various stages of losing their skin; all the horrific details! Those poor people.

I knew I should have just put on a lambing YouTube, but I couldn't resist. Does anyone else do this?

I'm usually really sensible about not catastrophising, but I slipped up this time. Groan!
