A few days ago I noticed a stinging type pain around my tailbone and it is quite tender, feels bruised almost.
But when I managed to look at the area in the mirror I seen this big red mark, it almost looks like a healing wound or stretch mark type thing but I haven't gained weight or anything recently.
The mark seems to extend up from the top of my rectal sort of area.
I've attached photos, cropped so they aren't too graphic!! 🙈 what do you think it is?

Could be from sweating a lot. Maybe try keeping it dry and apply a nappy cream. If it doesn't clear up it might need an antifungal cream

eatdrinkandbemerry · 15/04/2023 18:11

Looks like a sweat line. Have you been wearing nylon pants instead of cotton?
A bit of sudocreme will soon sort it

1930toEdinburgh · 15/04/2023 18:12

Sudocreme that overnight. Maybe a few nights. Should be better

DemelzasGreenDress · 15/04/2023 18:15

You may have cracked the skin, look up jock itch. If it is, you'll want an antifungal.

TwoThousandZeroZeroPartyOverOopsFoundMoreTime · 15/04/2023 18:40

Agree - dry the area and apply sudocream

Cherryblossom99 · 15/04/2023 21:13

Thanks all, I had a look at that other thread and it definitely looks very similar. I will keep it dry and try come nappy cream or something

Cotton pants, anti fungal cream and keep your fingers crossed it's not a pilonidal sinus which can feel like a bruised tailbone when they start.

Dry your crack with the hairdryer and do not rub it with a towel or avoid drying it.

Pandyluna · 15/04/2023 21:19

And go naked to bed so it gets to air a lot

Redebs · 15/04/2023 21:20

Don't stretch the skin.
Google pilonidal sinus to see why not

Ivebeenframed · 15/04/2023 21:48

I've had that before, it's a sweat rash. Anti fungal cream will sort it out. You'll probably need a prescription from the gp.

Cherryblossom99 · 16/04/2023 13:19

Oh god, I googled pilondial sinus and I wish I didn't lol. Fingers crossed 🤞 it's just a sweat rash and I will use the cream and keep an eye on it

Inverse psoriasis?

I have psoriasis and often get flares that look similar yet a bit redder then your pic, it could be early though.
