Fever - should I go to doctor

I've had a fever since Sunday (between 38-39) feeling awful shooting pains in both my legs and pain in my ribs. No cough or runny nose. Everyone else in the house is well.
Fever subsides with paracetamol but as soon as the 4 hours are up, temp goes back up and have to take paracetamol again.
Thought I was feeling a bit better yesterday but today I feel worse.
Covid test is negative

Does this sound like a viral or bacterial illness? I don't want to waste the gp time by taking an appointment that someone else might need more than me

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you

I would wait it out and may be a prescribing nurses appointment if fever doesn't subside after a few days .

Talk to the pharmacy?

Thanks both for the replies
I literally haven't been able to get out of bed to go to a pharmacy due to the shivers and feeling so rotten. Hopefully this is the worst of whatever I have

Of course not. You wait it out while drinking plenty of water and taking pain killers.
