Does anyone else have this? It feels like rice crispies in my ears each time I swallow. Had it for years so I have got used to it, but just wondering what the cause is. Is there any cure?

Have you had your ears micro suctioned? Probably dead skin/wax.

sounds like wax to me!

Has your dentist checked that your teeth are properly aligned? If they aren't it could be something to do with that. My jaw makes a crackling noise sometimes.

It's your eustacian tubes. There might be some congestion or there may be a nerve issue but it's not unusual, at any rate.

Could it be tinnitus ?

My aunt had this, she had a nurse take a really good luck and found some cotton wool inside her ear from a cotton bud. Removed it and the fracking stopped. She doesn’t remember ever losing the cotton wool but she must’ve done.

I struggled for years with this. Finally saw a new doctor who prescribed this: www.otovent.co.uk

It sounded crackers but I was at the end of my tether so tried it anyway - and it worked! Apparently my eustachian had closed. They sell them on Amazon too.

I get something where it feels like I have a flea in my ear - drives me nuts and I get it on both sides. It tickles and makes a noise too.

I had this, like others have said it was eustacian tube related. Mine got so bad I couldn't hear properly for the cracking and squeeking which ended up more or less constant and was very uncomfortable. I tried everything but nothing worked until I had a grommet put in - it wasn't nice but it worked. Still get occasionally but it's been about 15 years and never got anywhere near as bad.
