Is it roughly like when they put it in? Worse? Not so bad?

I'm being a scaredy-cat.

Ah, just what I wanted to hear! Thank you!
Did you have any bleeding afterwards?

Morning, i was sooooo shocked when i had mine out. I had to go for theatre to have it put in and thought it would be the same to get it out. I went to the docs and she did it straight away, hardly felt it, just like a little tugging feeling. She gave me a pad,I went shopping and cant remember any bleeding. Periods back to normal straight away. Hope this helps

WelliesAndPyjamas · 13/02/2008 08:42

I'm already feeling a lot better about it - thanks, everyone!
It's not the sort of reassurance I was able to find through googling so I am glad I asked on here. It's the first time I have had to go to the doc's since moving abroad 18 months ago so I guess I'm also a bit nervous about the language thing. But 'chin up', and all that. (or feet up is probably more apt!)

Had mine out a month ago. no worse than a smear and much easier than it going in. No bleeding initially and have just had my first period in 4 years - much lighter than I remember

WelliesAndPyjamas · 13/02/2008 10:20

thanks dosydot

I did it! And it was absolutely fine! What a relief. Thanks so much for the replies this morning. They meant I went in there a lot more relaxed.
