anyone experience with Pregabalin or Gabapentin? nerve pain but nervous given dependency

Nerve pain post-pregnancy (now 15 months post partum). Dr wants to prescribe gabapentin r pregabalin but only see bad reviews regarding becoming dependent.
Are there any good news stories of those on these medications? would love to hear

I am tapering off pregabalin for chronic pain, whilst you have to taper gently I am suffering no ill effects from doing so.

i am stopping as I am doing a pain management course and am getting steroid injections for the worst of it and want to try manage in other ways. I put on weight and really struggled to concentrate on max dose but was in a LOT of pain when I tried to stop dead.

It’s really not a psychological dependence as such, more you can get rebound pain.

They are much less addicting than opioids, been there
