Is this DVT symptoms? If not what is it?

Hi

I’m pregnant, 35 weeks. For about 2 weeks now I’ve had mild pain near my ankle that comes and goes. It’s not easing. If I rest (spend the whole day lying down in bed) it’s fine and there is zero pain. Pain returns when I stand, walk or sit (ie when leg is more elevated). If I wear socks that one ankle/lower calf swells (can tell as the band of the sock digs in). Swelling is mild and once I remove socks it goes away. It hurts a bit to walk/sit/stand but not unbearable. There is no redness, heat or other alarming symptoms.

the location of the pain is around where ankle joins to foot and at the front, so running down the bottom of shin to roof of foot.

It takes a week to see a GP here. I feel going to maternity triage for this is not fair as it’s not a pregnancy issue.

i keep googling DVT symptoms but it doesn’t seem to fit with those.

any idea what it could be and if it’s serious?

Sorry that should say pain returns when leg is not elevated!

more is a typo!

Swelling in just one ankle/leg could be a DVT. You definitely need to go to A&E for them to check you for a clot.

Even if it’s just very very mild swelling? I can’t see
it by looking at it, can literally only tell if I put socks on as one digs in and the other doesn’t.

Get checked for DVT.

Do you have high blood pressure?

It may just be edema from circulation issues which makes blood pool.

Get a pair of lightweight compression socks and put on first thing before getting out of bed and see if it still happens.

Blood pressure is normal, just checked and it’s 117/83 (bought a home monitor to check during pregnancy as have had super low BP in the past).

Have just put socks on now so will see if swelling returns.

It sounds more like oedema than DVT to me but if you're concerned could you visit a walk in centre / urgent care? It's always best to tule a DVT out as can cause very serious complications
