toddler recovering from bad cold

Any reassurances welcome...

DS (15 months) is recovering from a cold, he has no temperature any more but he just seems so unhappy. He has stopped walking (he'd just started), will only eat the most random things, and just keeps sitting there and shreiking. He might get distracted for a minute but will then suddenly just throw his head back and cry (or otherwise sit glassy eyed staring into space). Its like he is having waves of pain from something.

can anyone just tell me that he'll be ok in a couple of days and it can just take them a bit to get over things? Or do you think I should go back to the GP (tends to be useless)

Thanks

Hi my son is now 3 and I could not count the number of colds he has had over his life. He is at home with one now. Some leaves them very tired and weak.
Just make sure he drinks plenty of water, and for me, rice cakes helped him everytine to get his energy back, even if he did not want to eat anything else. Of course, follow you instint, of course you have it, and if if tells you there is something wrong,go straight to your GP. But I am sure your son just had a bad time with the cold and needs to rest. You are doing fine.
