It's itching like mad. don't think i've "done" anything to cause it, but am more stressed than usual, which is the same reason that it hit this before. It has been increasing elsewhere - arms and back etc over the last few weeks, I use oilatum in the bath / shower, vaseline and sometimes E45.
Any suggestions, ladies?

do you have any hydramol? Works well for dds or might require a prescription for betnovate or hydrocortisone.

can you buy hydramol OTC? haven't heard of it.

gw as the queen of itch this week( ia have eczema on a day to day basis and i also have managed to get chicken pox too which is just great)
i would say stay away from the vaseline. i think the greasiness can set it off again.
stick to e45. gently wash face in it using e45 as a 'soap' and apply geneously.Take an anti histamine- zirtek or piriton. this will calm your flare up down.
avoid shampoo
avoid
soap & water
avoid any kind of washing powder , bleach or detergent
only wear cotton
don;t wear makeup if you can bear it
don't get hot
try standing outside for 10 mins to cool down-i have just done a streak round the garden and feel much better

My mum (a 65 year eczema veteran) swears by aloe vera.
A friend who only gets eczema on her face uses the Bach flower rescue remedy cream when things get bad.
Def do short term antihistamine until other things work. Try using plain aqueous cream (buy huge tub from pharmacist for less than half the price of E45 and less stuff in it), plastered on after a really long bath with plenty of oilatum. If you can, bandage over a really thick layer (obv doesn't work for face) before bed.

Eumobase is fab. Eumovate is stronger and also very good but you need to ask for that at the chemist.

Poor Cremola-itch . but LOL at streaking - it's blardy freezing, presume it numbed you for a bit!!
have been doing E45 and aqueous for four or five days, it's holding it but not actually stopping the itch or improving things These things work on the DC and usually work on me... but not this week.
Antihistamine - now there is a good idea (off to look in cupboard, think some lurking there from hayfever season) and I'm going to try all of your suggestions til i find one that works
You lot are stars, thank you for all the good advice and suggestions

Try hydrocortizone 0.5% which can be used on the face. Not sure if Boots sell it. I know they sell 1% but you could always mix it with the E45 to dilute it. It helps ease itching too. Good luck!
