My daughter has had diarrhea for the lsst three days. she has been very sick twice. i took her to the hospital the other night as she had some non faiding purple spots on her leg. the doctor ruled out meningitis as she was too settled and didn't appear to be in pain. Anyway, he said to keep a close eye on it and bring her streight back if it spreads or if she gets other symptoms. She has been quite lethargic today and still has diarreah and vomiting. Shes not eating hardly anything and will only drink pure apple or orange juce.
Does any one have any advice on how to help her to recover. Should I try to get her to eat or just let her eat when she wants. I think shes lost waight, but she's not a skinny child anyway.
Also could she go out in her pushchair? or is it best that she stays at home? I'd be very greatfull for any advice.

Latest advice is to just go with the appetite but ideally things like live yoghurt, banana , toast , rice, clear fluids (try to water down juice as it may be too acidic), dioralyte, flat lemonade/coke

Thanks Lizs, she likes all those foods too. She keep saying "I want cake". She's not usually that fussed with cake. I didn't know if this would be a bad thing for her to have right now.

Let her eat cake!

And keep up with the fluids as much as possible.
