DD just dropped a tin of beans on her toe, how can I tell if its broke (the toe not the beans)

Nail has gone black and is bleeding and her toe has a huge blood blister and is all purple.

How can I tell if its broke? I don't think they can do anything even if it is can they?

Even if it is broken i'm pretty sure they can't do anything.A friend of mine broke 9 of her toes and they couldn't do anything.Just keep an eye on the swelling.Hope she feels better soon.
