He is 6. He has had a bad fluey virus. I know he hasn't been drinking enough although I have been encouraging him. His lips were dry yesterday and I kept at him and putting cream on but he kept rubbing it off. He got up this morning and his lips look so sore and of course he wouldn't put anything on them and then he picked. So his top lip is bleeding in one place and has been for about 4 hours. He still won't put anything on and is just dabbing with tissues.

What can I do? He wants me to make it stop but he doesn't want to put anything on as it stings. Save me from know-it-all six year olds.

Buda · 11/02/2008 13:42

He says the vaseline does sting.

Forgot about icepops - will have a look. Not sure he likes them though.

You might real in shock, horror, my mil used to put 'SUGAR' on lip bleeds, it worked! I know it sounds really unhealthy but it did work!

Buda · 11/02/2008 15:11

Seems to have stopped now thankfully - he is asleep so that might explain it - he is not constantly at it.

Sugar sounds weird - wouldn't it hurt?
