Blood pressure - any HCP around?

Quick question if you have been to the doctors for high blood pressure, had a 7 day monitor with an average 160/118 with some highs of 180/120. Would you be happy waiting for 4 weeks for a follow up?

ECG and blood test booked but 4 weeks seems a while. If my blood pressure reached 200/130 should I do something or just wait for this appointment in 4 weeks?

I'd be pushing to be seen sooner (ex-nurse).

I’d be chasing a much earlier appointment.

I'd be pushing for an earlier appointment. I've just started blood pressure medication and have blood tests booked for 2 weeks after I started and ECG booked as well. 200/130 is very high.

I’d be pushing to be seen earlier and if you have any tingling in your arms / chest or neck pain definitely go to A and E or ring 999 if severe.

When my blood pressure was being monitored, my gp told me to call 111 if it was over 200/120. Luckily, although high, it didn’t and he just adjusted my tablets. However, about four months later I had a TIA so I assume it remained high! After the TIA, the Stroke Consultant put me on anti coagulants and an additional bp tablet which brought it down to a very good level.

My blood tests, ECG ( device worn for 72 hrs) and MRI scan showed nothing unusual although I am left with loss of vision in one eye.

I was seen within2 weeks after referral by an optician under the 2 week stroke pathway.
