HSV1 (cold sores) question and blood test accuracy

Can you have the cold sore virus (HSV1) but your blood test returns negative?

If a blood test says I'm HSV1 negative does it mean I 100% don't have HSV or can it be dormant or something? Because I'm sure I kissed people with cold sores through out the years. I remember getting a scab on my lip once when I was 18 but nothing since, mid 30s now. Through out the years I assumed I had the cold sore virus but as part of this full test it came back that I don't have hsv1 or hsv2. It was a private lab so didn't discuss results with a medical professional.

It would be best to get checked by any other lab or talk with a medical professional. Once I checked my diabetes, I got two different results from two labs. Because I doubted the first result, sometimes it can be the technicians' fault or the equipment's. Other labs use equipment supplied by different medical lab equipment suppliers. If the equipment is not accurate and perfect, the result too can vary. It depends on the quality assured by the medical lab equipment suppliers that the lab relies on. The resulting quality depends on the equipment for medical lab tests.
