Rib pain - is this a GP matter or will it resolve itself?

I think I pul;ed a muscle in my chest. I could feel the muscle along the rib and it fits with the decription of a strained muscle. The pain has been much the same all week but I have got used to it.
Today though it is much more painful and the painful part reachs further than the original site. I assumed it would be getting better by now.

Does anyone have any experience of this sort of ailment? I dont want to go to the gp if its just me being a wuss.

Strong pain relief

Go to your local pharmacy and see what they recommend.

What I thought was a muscle strain that ran along my rib cage on one side turned out to be shingles.

I thought it was odd that I couldn't remember doing anything that would cause a strain. Eventually the skin became sensitive to touch and I realized what was going on. This was probably 7-10 days before the rash showed up.

I had something similar a few weeks ago. I think it was caused by my dog pulling strongly on the lead. Like you, it seemed to level off and then get worse. Just as I was thinking about the GP it just got better by itself.

Thats just what i wanted to hear @Stygimoloch

Hopefully not long now .😉

I had rib pain for weeks which just got worse with every passing day so I made an appointment with the GP (I never go to the dr so that's how painful it was!)

I went into the drs room and he prodded about asking where it hurt and I couldn't feel it anymore Shock It literally disappeared as soon as I walked in the room - weird AF and very embarrassing!

I'd give it another week and see if it eases off.
