Hi my dd13 has got acne which is getting worse and I feel for her. She has it on her face, her back and chest. There are some sore lumps underneath some of the blind spots and lots of red angry spots. She uses a gentle facial wash once a day and witch hazel gel overnight. Is there anything i can try which other have found had results? Will the doctor prescribe anything at this age?

Yes speak to the gp OP: they are likely to give antibiotics- possibly topical first .. I had awful teenage acne and it had a huge impact on my confidence. Going to the gp helped a lot, although I did have to keep going back for different treatments over the years.

Yes I had horrible acne at that age and was given a cream and antibiotic tablets from the GP. Was on the tablets until I went on the pill at 17.
My skin was never clear on them but definitely an improvement from what it was like before!
