DS has been a bit pale the last few days. Last night he was awake during the night, but not crying or in pain.

DH noticed that he was quite warm this morning.

Just took temperature, 38.5 degrees. When I asked him if anything was sore, he pointed to his ear, but he is not upset or crying. He is actually quite fit and playing happily.

I suspect it might be an infection, it will be the third in the last year. He has twice had antibiotics.

Is there any way to prevent ear infections or reduce the severity of them?

I'm just thinking if you go to the drs now you may be able to get the antibiotic ear spray instead of perhaps needing oral antibiotics if it gets worse. I know people who've used cranial osteopathy which has helped stop frequently occuring ear infections.

Will ask doc about that.

Bit hesitant to go to A&E as we will have to wait for hours. Then drive around searching for a chemist that is still open. (We are in Germany, all the chemists are shut already)

Why does this always happen at weekends?
