Living with constance thrush!

It’s driving me mad. Ever since my second daughter was born (2 years ago) I basically live with constant thrush.

I can’t quite believe it’s been two years. I saw a gynaecologist about a year ago who just said “you’ve got thrush” (…I know!) and gave me canenstan, who I should probably buy shares in at this point. It’s particularly bad after sex, and is now impacting my sex life with DH as I cba with the flare up. The symptoms get better but it’s almost like the thrush never really goes away. If I dare to even wipe instead of pat with loo roll, thrush for 4 days! Basically nothing and no one (including me) can touch my fanny and it’s starting to make me miserable!

I do have the Marina coil and read it could be that….Will be ringing the doctor on Monday as it’s gone on too long but wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience?

I had this problem for a long time, it seemed to be linked to taking the pill for me. I never found a quick fix but it eventually subsided after changing contraception, cutting out yeast and reducing sugar and taking both oral and vaginal probiotics (Optibac for Women and Canesflor).

I lived with perpetual thrush for years. Every time I had sex, thrush again. Both of us treated each time, nothing changed...until...I discovered Canesflor Probiotics. These are capsules that you place in the vagina and I started by doing a full course and then eventually just had to maintain the balance by popping one in after sex because they cost about £15 for 10. I'll link to them below.

Absolute game changer for me. I had resigned myself to having to live with having permanent thrush, nothing the GP gave me worked for long, cleared the thrush but then as soon as I had sex again, back it came.

I haven't had thrush in years since using these. https://www.boots.com/canesflor-supplement-for-vaginal-use-10-vaginal-capsules-10202178?cmmmc=bmm-buk-google-ppccPLAsAsHeroCompareareHealthcareOther---UKSmarttShoppingHealthcareeOther&gbraid=0AAAAADrIajXZNGkv8AUIyJrIrbZuOgIMI&gbraid=0AAAAADrIajXZNGkv8AUIyJrIrbZuOgIMI&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxveWncihQIVqujtCh3uag4UEAQYBSABEgLSfPDDBwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

How are you getting on, OP?

I was reading something yesterday which says a clove of garlic cut in half and placed in the vagina overnight will get rid of it. Worth a try.

Sorry, it took over a week to get hold of a GP. I’ve got a blood test booked this Friday and I’ve started a 6 month course of floconazole which seems to have improved it over night. Hopefully it gets on top of it and that will be it. The doctor said it’s unlikely to be the coil as they’d expect to see other more serious infections if it was irritating enough to cause a thrush infection. The fact it’s gone on for so long suggests otherwise.

Ive also started cutting back on my sugar intake massively with the hope to have a complete overhall of my diet and lifestyle over the next few months (baby steps).

Im going to politely pass on garlic fanny.

Yeast is one of the main culprits. So things like wine and bread make it worse. I only have to have one glass of wine to trigger it now.
