High blood pressure, low heart rate

Anyone had high blood pressure but a low
heart rate?

Talking 170/110 heart rate 45 to 155/106 heart rate 40.

Doctors did a telephone consultation due to ongoing headaches (not all the time but persistent) and recommended getting a blood pressure machine.

Tested my DP and they also had theirs done at hospital last week. And it measured similar so it’s not a fault with the machine.

30s, healthy bmi, exercise and do long distance running.

Going to measure it again tonight and in the morning. Will ring GP on Monday. Worried as I keep reading if it goes above 180/120 to go to A&e…is that really needed?

Have you had them checked in the past? Your low heart rate could be normal for you especially if you are very fit.

BP is a bit high though. I would check twice a day when you are sitting quietly and have been for 20mins or so. Just the the worry of it could be enough to put it up. If it does go sky high 180 or more then yes worth a trip to a&e

Yeah had it checked in the past and all been normal. Resting heart rate has always been on the lower side due to the running.

I will check it again tomorrow with a cuppa a biscuit beforehand 🤣

I had this happen after having a baby. Bp was 180/100 and pulse 37. Spent few days in hospital. Never really got an explanation but all normal now

I have high BP and have always had a low heart rate. I was on a betablocker for BP but have had to come off of it as HR was dipping to 38.
Now on another BP med but my HR is around 50. I recently saw cardiologist who wasn't concerned.
I exercise regulary but no marathon runner!
