Just covering a few bases... talk mumps to me!

DS has been off for a couple of days - very cuddly, crying more easily but not ill iyswim.

Tonight he is awake again, not really with it, snuggled into me and keeps rubbing under one ear along his jaw. I haven't turned the light up to get a proper look yet!

He is a bit warm, but not a temp temp.

Suddenly remembered the big MUMPS!! sign at school last week, and can hear my mum in my head asking when he will have his MMR.

Also all argh at myself because I have planned for him to have it after his birthday (a couple of weeks).

Just really wanting information from thems that have done it, so I can look and relax again

I'll say TEETH! those 2nd set molars.
Mumps huge lumpy neck, huge moany child, lots of tears, really annoyed, like how dd1 was a bit when we saw you last summer and she was reacting to the mupms jab

mumps even wine hic.

If it is mumps, he won't want to eat anything as it will hurt his throat too much...so that should give you a clue.

Could he distinguish if you ask him where it hurts ie throat or gums?

My DS had mumps last year when he was 2.3 he was under the weather but not really ill - the big tell tale were the MASSIVE lumps on his neck. Feel where his glands are if he has mumps you will not miss them! Hope he's feeling better soon.........

O and FWIW my DS had the MMR jab and still got mumps!!

Than kyou I ended up falling asleep with him last night and not getting back to this. I think it is just a sore throaty kind of thing - I now have a streaming cold too, so he is probably having a similar thing. Will be back if his neck grows
