Broken Ankle

I dislocated and broke my ankle in a number of places four months ago. My foot was almost turned back on itself.

I've had a number of operations and need more.

I'm still in a wheelchair and my family's life has changed completely because of it.

I'm shocked by how something can happen so quickly and have such a big impact. I now feel quite nervous of lots of things.

Once I'm up and about again, will this anxiety quickly subside?

As I mentioned above, this is what I used to keep my cast dry (you can get larger to fit over a boot) found it well made and the water did not get in. Now not sure if the blue towel is included.....

@GherkOut I was very unsteady getting to the bathroom with just crutches and quite upset I was in such a state just needing to go to the loo. But with practice and 2 motion night lights that helped me see without waking everyone up it became easier.

Forgot to mention as well I had what they called a 'Footballers break' thankfully no plates/pins.

Having fallen over 8 weeks ago and torn ligaments in my other ankle I am just back from physio doing the same things as before

@BanBananasCofffeeChocolate how is your week going?

BananasCofffeeChocolate · 03/02/2023 16:22

@PenguinsCantFly I’m ok thank you. Just had my first accidentally banging my ankle experience that people talk about! Urgh. As someone says all the metal is pretty strong. Trying to keep motivated. How are you? And everyone one else on this thread? I hope the OP is managing without too much anxiety.
