Literal pain in bum

I've been having some digestive issues for a few months now and after a particularly difficult time over Xmas with illness and stress my bowels have got much worse. I have fluctuations between diarrhoea and constipation, lots of wind, burping, pain in upper and lower abdomen, back pain, piles and pressure feeling in my rectum. But now I have a new symptom of pain, tingling and pressure in my left bum cheek/groin area to the point that it is difficult to sit correctly. It is sort of a constant dull ache and feeling of pressure but occasionally will have a sharp pain too. It's radiating from deep in my groin near vaginal opening all the away round to the lower buttock / top of thigh area.
It's really bothering me and I don't have a gp appointment until next week. Any ideas what this could be?

Can't you gey a sooner appointment as an emergency if you are in pain?

I will call them tomorrow and ask. I've had stool samples sent off last week and next weds is my follow up. Apparently not all the results are back yet.

Have you got any further with this, @CreatingHavoc? Weirdly, I've got something very similar going on. It’s really horrible and I do sympathise. I hope you've had some answers from the GP by now.

Ask to be screened for coeliacs disease.

Did you get sorted? I have similar issues with the feeling of pressure in my rectum been going on 3 months now and I’m sick of it.
also have bad bouts of constipation. Have you explored IBS treatment? :)

Not been on here for a while but to update, things are still going on. The pain in my buttock/thigh is sciatic or piriformis pain and I have to do exercises to help that. Nothing much, just some stretches. That was the easy bit. Everything else I'm still working on. Still having most of the symptoms on and off but gp has now recommended trying the fodmap diet and to go gluten free, which is a massive ball ache as I'm vegan anyway but I'm giving it a go! Have also bought probiotics to try. I've already figured out some stuff I can't tolerate (high sugar and processed foods are a no go) and it's basically forced me to eat better. Even though I don't really like cooking, I am enjoying the healthier food. Symptoms have marginally improved but I've only been doing it about 5 days so got a few more weeks of it yet. Hopefully it'll make a difference.

Glad you’re doing slightly better
