Pain to right of naval

For at least a year I have had a sharp ‘hot’ pain if I press my stomach about 2-3 inches to the right of my naval. I went to the GP a year ago and they said it was ‘gastro’. However, this has been going on so long I can’t help but think that cannot be it. Sometimes I can feel the pain without touching the area. It is a really specific point. I’m going to try for another appointment but any ideas?

Rumbling appendix?

I wondered this but can it go on for well over a year? Maybe longer? I keep looking at organ diagrams and trying to work it out!
