Fainting and palpitations - heart related?

Ive had palpitations for around a month, two weeks ago one lasted so long I fainted. I had another collapse in A&E and was kept for 2 days on a chair on monitoring but no further ECG or anything done.

I’m awaiting a referral for cardiology but they only put my paperwork through 10 days after my admission.

Any idea what could be causing this? It happens at different times of the day, often when sitting and hasn’t happened after exertion. Currently I’m getting the palpitations about every other day and have fainted once since.

It’s not anxiety. I’ve been anxious and know the feeling, I’m convinced this isn’t it.

What would a cardiology referral look for?

Just to add, I’ve no other symptoms such as fatigue or swelling. HR is generally normal

Do you get them after eating or drinking?

No, I can’t find any pattern at all. Can be when hungry or just after a large meal!

Do you have any digestive issues @CelloYouveGotABass

Google POTS.

Anaemia, Addisons disease (although very rare so unlikely), lupus and thyroid problems can all cause these sorts of issues as they can all cause issues with heart rhythm and the muscles affecting the heart.

Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause heart palpitations.
