How old are you ?

Loadofoldshart · 16/01/2023 21:37

Oh yes that would be useful info! 37 coming 38

Hypermobility syndrome seems like an obvious start

Loadofoldshart · 16/01/2023 21:44

well yes it does seem rather obvious now that you say it - high impact exercise has always made me vomit, need to sleep or given me migraines

Parkinson’s? If so don’t panic, lots of treatments available

LBF2020 · 16/01/2023 21:45

I would ask for blood tests, especially hormones and inflammation marker. Hopefully something will be flagged and they can refer you on to consultant care. I have a lot of these symptoms and have diagnosis of Ankylosing spondylitis (autoimmune) and also pituitary tumour. I hope you get to the bottom of your problem.

Findyourneutralspace · 16/01/2023 21:47

Ejlers Danlos has lots of strange presentations. How long has this been going on?

TBH I’d just go to the GP with your list and let them narrow it down or make the relevant referrals.

henrilechat · 16/01/2023 21:48

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome? POTS?
I don't think you need to know what bloods to ask for, it's your GP's job to work that out. It could even be a few co morbid conditions. See if you can get a double appointment so you have plenty of time to ask questions maybe.

Loadofoldshart · 16/01/2023 21:49

Thanks for the responses

Maybe 5 years or so? now everything is so much worse and I’m realising it’s not normal to be in more or less constant pain

Eds and maybe hypothyroid?

RandomMess · 16/01/2023 21:55

As well as the above mentioned start of peri menopause and/or thyroid issues.

LBF2020 · 16/01/2023 21:56

@henrilechat although I agree you shouldn't have to ask for which blood tests you think may be relevant but sadly in my experience of going back and forth to drs it's only when I suggested what blood tests I wanted did I actually get a diagnosis 😞

rhowton · 16/01/2023 22:04

I would say:

Hyperthyroidism and insulin resistant PCSO.

rhowton · 16/01/2023 22:06

Hypothyroidism (under active) sorry, my above was wrong.

YNK · 16/01/2023 22:08

I'd also suggest hypothyroid or B12d.
Ask for B12, folate, ferritin, fbc and full thyroid panel.

Here's a well informed B12d FB group www.facebook.com/groups/PAB12DSupportGroup

Loadofoldshart · 16/01/2023 22:18

Yes I suspect my GP will require me to negotiate to get the bloods and possibly also tell her what I think might be wrong

BatshitCrazyWoman · 17/01/2023 05:47

I've got hyperthyroidism and had a lot of your list at diagnosis.

bluecrayola · 17/01/2023 06:44

Peri menopause and maybe vitamin D deficiency. Have you ever had your vitamin D levels tested? Low levels can cause bone and joint pain and extreme fatigue.

shewolfsout · 17/01/2023 08:59

Could be POTS as well which is related to ehlers danlos/ joint hyper mobility syndrome

whyhere · 17/01/2023 09:23

Ex-nurse here. EDS/thyroid, but I am in no way a substitute for a proper doctor's appointment!

Loadofoldshart · 17/01/2023 20:16

Diagnosis Mumsnet 😂 thanks all, will see if I can get an appointment

Loadofoldshart · 18/01/2023 09:28

Ok definitely phoning today - I’ve woken up with the worst pain in back mid back around my ribs/bra strap, worse at the left, sort of squeezing

i can’t stand or sit!

OP posts:
RandomMess · 18/01/2023 20:23

That sounds like gall stones/gall bladder issues

Loadofoldshart · 18/01/2023 22:24

I couldn’t get through to my gp at all today.

my husband very kindly pointed out today that I seem to be balding at the back of my head too. So that’s nice 🙄

OP posts:
bluecrayola · 19/01/2023 06:28

Sorry you weren't able to get through to your GP. Do try again today.

Re the hair loss - that can also be a symptom of vitamin D deficiency (along with extreme tiredness and aches and pains) so it's worth pushing for blood tests at your surgery (or you can pay for private tests online).
