My son 21 mths had a febrile convulsion last night brought on by a rising temperature due to a slight ear infection. In hindsight I did everything I could have - called 999 immediately, got his clothes off, lay him on his side etc. Ambulance arrived went to hospital and all's fine, thank God! But it made me realise that if he stopped breathing I wouldn't be 100% sure of what to do.
So I've decided to do a first aid course, but the only one I can find in our area is on 5 April with St John's Ambulance (kind of want to do it before then!) and Red Croiss only seems to do work-related courses. So if anyone knows of where else we could try, I'd be really grateful.
Frightening experience....
