Tonsillitis / Lump in top of mouth

Has anyone ever had a lump in the top of their mouth during tonsillitis? I have the white dots on my tonsils but also a sore, swollen lump above in the upper palate (if that's the right term) of my mouth. It feels like (TMI sorry) kind of a big spot but I seem to have it at the same time as general tonsillitis symptoms (white dots on tonsils, pain when swallowing, sore ears when swallowing etc). I'm waiting it out assuming it's viral to begin with, finding it hard to find anything out about this symptom specifically.

Hi @OuchAgain, have you got a photo? Could it maybe be an ulcer?

White spots are a bacterial tonsillitis. Gargling with hydrogen peroxide solution will oxidise the bacteria and get rid of the tonsillitis, then see if lump still there. Sometimes certain glands swell when your body is an infection. It might be this, if it's still there when tonsillitis gone check with a GP.

Check out Quincy, which is a throat abscess developed from Tonsillitis
