Should I really stay away from the combined pill?

So,my mother died of breast cancer many years ago but I have PCOS and according to my GP I should definitely be taking some form of hormonal contraception. He said he would not want me to be on the combined pill because it’s more associated with breast cancer than the mini pill. The problem is that I have never found a mini pill that doesn’t give me awful side effects I just keep piling on the weight on them, have migraines no appetite and I’m bleeding all over the place. I’ve been reading a lot about the combination pill called Yasmin and a lot of women on it with PCOS recommended it because it’s also a slight diuretic so less people gain weight on it. I also read that the mini pill also increases the chance of breast cancer so I don’t really understand why my doctor is so concerned about the combination one. Just looking for advice or experiences.

Thanks
