I have found a patch of skin on my back that has changed colour gone darker,, any ideas!!

As I was getting out of the shower yearterday I noticed a fairlt large area n my back were the skin has gone darker.. (during the day went lighter and darker AGAIN) I am in a bit of a panic about it. I have all the worst case senarios going through my. I am going to try and see a doctor tommorrow.

Has anyone got any ideas what it could be..

(Also panicking if it is anything as dh goes away next sunday for 6months)

Erm, have you bought a new cheap dark-coloured vest lately? Not meaning to be insulting but things like that do happen (I thought someone had been giving DS chinese burns at nursery, but it proved to be red paint that hadn;t washed off his wrist properly). Other than that, could be contact dermatitis of some kind (have you been using one of those herbal heat pillows on an aching back or similar?)

I did think this and scrubbed my back after seeing.. but nothing.. also havent wore anything new in a while. The shspe of it is funny too.. not consistant with something touching my back. My back has been really itchy latley,(which didnt bother me until i noticed the patch) but cant think of anything that I have changed to cause a reaction. will have to get my thinking cap on.
