What are these symptoms of?

Increasingly worse over the last few months:-

Feeling full up very quickly unless I’m starving I’m generally full and quite uncomfortable after 5/6 mouthfuls of food

”full” feels like my stomach being as tight as a drum (looking about 3 months pregnant), belching for hours, stomach cramps, burping and bringing up stomach acid/undigested food. This can go on for hours.

Previously it would last a few hours but now it’s almost all the time. I woke up this morning as bad as it was last night

Today I didn’t eat at all until tonight, I had one Turkey sandwich cut into 4 and a handful of crisps with some cut up apple. This was an hour ago, I’m now so uncomfortable, stomach gurgling and churning, burping every 5 mins, bringing up acid and sick.

What on earth is this?

Could be all manner of things from benign to unpleasant - I think I would try to see my GP if I were you.

Sameshitdifferentdayx · 26/12/2022 21:17

I have symptoms like yours. Plus a few other things and I'm being tested for Coeliac disease.
I'd discuss this with a GP if this is an ongoing problem x

Durango · 26/12/2022 21:29

I might have to see the GP, googled coeliac and it fits perfectly.

I tend to bury my head in the sand with things like this but I’ve felt so uncomfortable the last few weeks

How old are you? I'd be concerned about ovarian problems. Definitely book a gp appointment

byebye2022 · 26/12/2022 21:30

Could be a Hernia, something awful like ovarian cancer, pancreatic issues, acid reflux, or a bowel issue. Only way to know is to go to GP as they are the trained professionals.
Hope your ok

Anxiety, stress, h pylori

Durango · 26/12/2022 21:40

Anxiety or stress ….. are you a man?

I swear if you’re a woman and your leg was hanging off someone would ask you if you’re stressed

I had a dr recently suggest h pylori in response to painful pressure in the upper intestine just below the bottom of the ribcage in the middle. I'd not heard of it beforeand am waiting for a follow up appt. Have a Google of that?

I could have written this about 2 years ago. I had the exact same symptoms, constant bloating and feeling full. I also had issues drinking alcohol. A glass of wine would end up making my head spin and feel like I had been on a all night bender!
I am lucky and my GP was excellent, and regularly did a full set of bloods and stool samples on me. I tried everything from Apple Cider vinegar to IBS medication… Nothing helped
About 3 months ago I came down with a nasty vomiting virus, and after that everything was better! It was bizarre and very worrying.
I would also suggest the GP, I hope it clears up soon.

H pylori. Can cause these symptoms. It leads to ulcers etc.

Poundie · 26/12/2022 22:27

That’s so similar, and sadly I have no advice. Definitely see your GP and get them to test for everything. I really hope your symptoms clear quickly as it’s awful

HollyFern1110 · 26/12/2022 22:30

I don't know but I am the same.

I've had a colonoscopy (diverticular disease) & a gastroscopy (sliding hiatus hernia). I am meds for both these things but getting worse all the time.

I'm getting fatter & fatter despite eating less & less. I just feel tight & uncomfortable all the time with the weirdest pains. I also have a permanent cough & am physically sick almost every single night.

Aquamarine1029 · 26/12/2022 22:31

Unreal gastro issues are very, very common in peri-menopause.

This is what I wondered with mine, as am post 40, but no periods due to the coil

goinback · 26/12/2022 22:43

Same apart from the vomit, plus weight loss, went to GP, suspected gastritis/ esophagitis put on acid reduction medication, just had endoscopy and have a hernia, mild gastritis , also waiting on Coeliac test results . definitely see your GP.
Incidentally GP said Anxiety and Stress can make symptoms worse and was considering antidepressants. Having a diagnosis has helped mentally if not such far improved my symptoms physically.

That's really rude! Those were my symptoms when I was signed off work with stress.
