Refused to buy Ovex in Boots

My son is complaining of a itching bottom and I've just been to Boots to purchase Ovex as previously used it in treating worms. The pharmacist refused to sell me the drug saying that the symptoms are not enough, despite explaining that we used it before as recommended by the GP with the same symptoms. I went to Superdrug and no problems even advise to treat the whole family. If a drug is sold over the counter it should be available for us to purchase.

I’ve had so many issues buying various OTC medicines in our local boots, everything from aspirin when I was pregnant (midwife/dr/consultant advised me to take it), antihistamines, 0.5% hydrocortisone ,Emla cream, you name it. Whereas our local Lloyds don’t seem to give me the third degree each and every time I go in. I’ve stopped going there if I can help it.
