DS has a severe overbite & overjet. He’s been wearing devices for nearly a year, and the top one is designed to widen his top palate/upper jaw. We widen it a bit every couple of weeks.
Anyway, we realised today that his top teeth are now much wider than his bottom teeth. Is this what’s supposed to happen (to this degree)? It’s a while until his next appointment and I don’t want to continue widening if we’ve gone too far!
They were saying he would likely need lower jaw surgery eventually for the overbite - would this surgery then kinda widen his lower jaw too, bringing his teeth back into alignment??
