Nausea fatigue and anxious response for no reason

Really hoping someone can help. I’ve had a series of colds, followed by another minor cold at the start of the week combined with a period. However after a few days cold dried up but my body just started feeling really weird. Feeling nauseous, which comes in waves, headache and fatigue. Body feels weak. Stomach is all over the place gurgling and unsettled but no diarrhoea or anything. The weird bit is that feels as though my body is having an anxious response, I feel really on edge and like something is really wrong but without knowing why I feel like this. Could this be a post viral thing? I’m getting worried as I just feel so weird.

It sound like the virus I've had which developed in to cough/sore throat/headache

Bluesycamore · 25/12/2022 20:29

@autienotnaughty thanks, to be honest I’d rather have the sore throat etc as at least that would be something I’m used to. It’s the feeling really weird and on edge, and exhausted, but without any proper symptoms that’s making me uneasy. Maybe it’s pre viral then instead of post

I’ve just had my third bout of covid, then came on my period and have just had four days of pretty bad anxiety that came out of the blue. I’ve had anxiety before but there’s nothing specific driving this period. Bad sleeps, churning tummy and a general feeling that something bad is about to happen! Thankfully it seems to be passing. Really weird.
I think some peoples bodies do react like this to a virus.

Bluesycamore · 25/12/2022 20:37

@MissTiggywinkles thanks so much that’s reassuring it will pass. Of course I’ve been anxious about things before like job interviews, stressful times etc but then have always had the actual cause to focus on. Whereas my body seems to be doing the anxious response without any due cause which has been freaking me out a bit. Even all today all I could think about was how weird I feel. Glad to hear yours passed

I think our bodies hormonal response is always a bit weird when we have a period (mine is anyway) plus there’s sooo much going on at the moment, you’re probably more subconsciously stressed than you think.
I’ve had the exact same though, a feeling of impending doom, it’s been so strange. I’ve just been telling myself I’ve had it before and nothing bad happened. I know what to do to get myself back on track and even if it takes a little while, I’ll get there!
Take each day at a time, make time for yourself and you’ll be fine 😉

@MissTiggywinkles thanks, yes my hormones can be strange and I have a 4 and 1 year old so not exactly relaxing. Thanks so much though it’s nice to get a bit of reassurance as it’s been consuming me a bit for the last few days, and have just had such low energy. Oh and Happy Christmas 🙂

Merry Christmas to you too! Hope you start feeling more yourself soon 🙂

Could well be a virus. Have you done a Covid test? That seems to come with a wide array of wonderfully varied symptoms. But other viruses 🦠 are available.

Bluesycamore · 25/12/2022 21:26

@HappyHolidai thanks, no I haven’t actually for this time round as the symptoms have been bizarre. I initially thought I was making coming down with a stomach bug but no D&V just nausea and anxiety. Maybe I should get some more covid tests

Pregnant? This is exactly how I felt in the first trimester both times

ScottishBeth · 25/12/2022 21:31

It could be post viral., seems very common with covid and your cold could have been covid. If you don't find another cause might be worth really resting as much as you can for a few days.

Bluesycamore · 25/12/2022 21:44

@YukoandHiro definitely not pregnant, I’m 100% certain!! but the nausea does feel similar @ScottishBeth thanks really hope I can rest and shake it off already very fed up with it
