Am in a similar situation, harman - had mine two weeks ago and mine started in earnest last week.

Mine was done with the Novasure method, and their website says to expect discharge for up to six weeks. It doesn't say anything about using tampons and neither did my gynae - I assume there's nothing to stop you using them if you want to.

Horrible, isn't it.

I'd thought that after the first few days I'd be OK, but once the the constant leakiness started it's been unpleasant. And every time I think it's easing off, I end up with a huge gush all down my legs!

I wasn't sterilised at the same time, although to be honest it might not have been a bad move. I hadn't realised that it was possible to do the two at the same time until it was too late! It knocked me about a bit even so, although I'm not so bad now. The gynae assured me that I would be back to normal within 24 hours, which was wildly optimistic to say the least! I'm only just now starting to feel more like myself again.

Yep, me too - went back to work the following day because I was expecting to feel fine but made myself worse by overdoing it, I think. I escaped the gas pains pretty much, just had a little bit a few days after.

Had a quick google and it seems that discharge for three or four weeks is expected following a thermal balloon thingie so you should see it easing up soon.

Hope everything settles down soon for you.

I had the thermal ablation done last year, best thing I ever did as I have had no periods since, so no flooding every 30 mins

I think I had a discharge for about 4 weeks, I was convinced it was an infection too, but a swab proved it wasn't. I was told I could use tampons, but didn't feel I wanted to, even though I hate pads. I used my mooncup! Ewwww!

/hijack - my mum is due to have this op shortly - she's getting very nervous about the Zoladex injection - anyone got anything reassuring to say about it?

Thanks Harman. Did you have much by way of side effects from the injection?

thanks Harman. she's anxiously waiting for her period to start now, as if it doesn't start by tomorrow, then she will probably have to delay the op after all that!
