Please can anyone offer any advice or put my mind at rest? DD 10mths has had a horrid flu type virus for the last week, went right off her food which didn't bother me initially, Stepped up milk feeds for calories and fluids from 3 bottles to about 6 per day. She is now over the worst and getting better but will eat virtually nothing. Today we achieved: Breakfast 6 mouthfuls, lunch 2/3 of a small yoghurt and one bite of toast, tea 1 small ricecake. I'm starting to worry. Tried to decrease milk to let her get hungry but didn't have much effect. Anyone got any ideas, I'm starting to get stressed by this...

don't worry..my DS was recently sick with 2 bugs in a row and went off solids for nearly 2 weeks. I kept trying to give him things but he wasn't interested. He is 8 months old and my Paed said not to worry at this age. I think it's good if he's keeping milk down.

Really don't worry. The next few days she will prob suddenly get appetite back and eat with a vengeance! Keep up with the liquids and offer lots of small portions of plain ish food that she likes. Hope she gets better soon.

Thanks very much, I shall defer to your wisdom and calm down! Hopefully she will be ok soon, she has a skinny little tummy now.

again don't worry my ds of 15mths was sick for about 10 days recently and went right off food too. All he would eat was bit of breakfast and pick at food. So just gave him what he would eat and he did get his appetite back with a vengence.

Try not to worry as long as getting milk and drinking will be okay. Its horrible though so sympathise.
