“Sympathy symptoms” or something worse?

Just looking for some advice - my DH has been feeling sick almost all day, every day for the past month or so.

He is in his twenties and generally in great health, however since around October He feels unwell after eating (no matter the meal) and has the constant feeling that he’s about to vomit, however he won’t unless he makes himself sick. He’s gone a few days eating rarely anything due to the fear of feeling sick.

I'm currently 6 months pregnant - and the first week or so of him feeling this way i jokingly suggested he was having sympathy symptoms - and it was like he was also experiencing pregnancy along with me ( I had bad sickness / heartburn / nausea ) however this sickness has not gone away, we’ve agreed to go to the GP on Monday - but he is currently withering in discomfort and I’m debating ringing 111 ! :( he’s not a moaner and I’m genuinely worried about him.

has anyone experienced this? DH father is now swearing that when DH mother was pregnant with him he was poorly.

At his age and considering his normal good health, he should definitely go to the GP. Sounds v unpleasant.

Could be anything from anxiety to a problem with his liver to a stomach condition but please do go and see the GP on Monday and let them evaluate.

It could be something like anxiety, reflux, ibs but definitely needs to see a doctor

I get this but I have IBS and functional dyspepsia.
Is he suffering from any anxiety or stressing over the baby coming? My nausea is much worse when I am anxious.
Its always worth a visit to the GP, if anything they can give him something to help ease it all.
