Had my first 'atypical migraine', at least that's what they told me, last month.
I've never met anyone who's had one before, that I know of, and I'd love to connect with people who've had them before as I could do with some reassurance that I've been given the right diagnosis.
This is what happened (and is still happening!) 3 weeks today.
Head pain, not a headache, for a few days, and in addition to that on day 5 the right hand side of my face went a little numb, and sometimes my right arm and leg did too. That remained so for an entire week. The head pain got severe for about 2/3 days in the middle of that week. It all stopped on day 14. I had no symptoms. A few random moments of head pain and numbness but nothing major since. But now day 21 my face is numb again? Like when local is wearing off.
I had a CT scan and it was clear. Neurologist seemed convinced it was an atypical migraine, but can it really linger like this?
Again, no ordinary headache as such.
