Trouble swallowing/chest pain

I have been ill for a number of weeks. Massive chest pain with palpitations 10 days ago which resulted in an A& E visit. No heart attack but I couldn't walk.
I have trouble swallowing and wake up with a foul taste in my mouth. I don't have covid. I have a pressure feeling in my chest and back.
I am overweight but getting smaller. I don't drink or smoke.
I will try to see the doctor tomorrow. A friend has suggested a tumour. I am scared. My mother died of cancer, my brother has cancer. I am being silly?

Reflux/something gastric would be my guess. I had a small ulcer after Covid and genuinely thought I was dying at times. Omprezalone really helped, and you can buy it from the pharmacy/online pharmacy. Start at 20mg but you can go up to 80mg a day though you shouldn't do that without medical supervision. Take a good vit/min supplement too because it can make you deficient in B12.

Sleeping more upright may help too, and diet changes can be really helpful. Stay off spicy/fatty/tomato/onion for now as that made it so much worse for me.

Has a friend really suggested a tumour? What kind of friend are they? Confused

See your GP and leave it to them to diagnose?

@Doyoumind one that always winds me up! I think it was based on their experience with a family member.

Why are you getting smaller. If the weight loss is unexplained do tell your doctor

How have you been? What did your doctor say? I have the same thing at the moment and have an endoscopy booked.

This reminds me of what I had a campylobacter infection. I had chest pain, upper back pain, etc. Essentially it felt like acid reflux symptoms x100.

The doctors gave me strong antibiotics and some antacids and it cleared up really very quickly.

It was unfair of your friend to say it sounds like a tumor... There are plenty of more common and less worrying things it could be.

Doctor this coming week. I have had the flu too.
