Waiting for Colonoscopy and Gastroscopy results.

4 months ago I was put on the 2 week cancer pathway for an urgent Colonoscopy due to being severely anaemic, having a positive FIT test that showed blood in my stools and change of bowel movements. The hospital couldn't meet the 2 ww so took me off the list and told me to wait to see a consultant. 3 months later the consultant called and said, oh yes you definitely do need a Colonoscopy and a Gastroscopy on the cancer pathway.
Had them 2 weeks ago and still waiting for results. Tissue samples were collected and 3 polyps removed. 2 were sessile polyps of 5mm and 2mm and one was a 6mm flat elevated polyp.
I have been told the wait, due to staff shortages could be up to 6-8 weeks. They took me off the cancer pathway when they shouldn't have and now this. It's completely derailed me and I am so worried.
Any body been through similar with polyps and what was the outcome please. Thanks.

When you chased this was it with the hospital or the GP? I’m just wondering if it is worth talking to the GP/or the hospital directly depending on who fobbed you off. I hope you don’t have to wait too much longer as it must be very stressful.

Oh how stressful. Glad you have the polyps removed though. Might be worth contacting PALs at the hospital, Have found them helpful in the past
