I went hiking almost two weeks ago. I had a foul blister on my heel. It came off, I thought things were ok, but now there are lines on my heel and it really hurts. Should I be using a blister plaster? Normal plasters? Nothing? It hurts, it made running today unpleasant.

sounds like a cracked heel, make sure you dry your feet roperly when you wash and try something called flexitol cream rubbed on it nightly and throughout the day if you have time

is it like a crcack in the heel? they are so so so so so painful everytime you step on them ouuuuuuch!!

Have you got any Lansinoh? It's great on cracked heels. Hope your foot feels better soon. I know it hurts.

It's on the back of the heel, not the bit I step on - the skin is thin and not really meant to be exposed, and then it cracks whenever I stretch it.

I think I will not run today, to give it a break. I put a blister plaster on it - I couldn't stand the thought of putting any goop on it when it's an open wound. [ugh]

Make sure you rub off any dry skin with a pumice stone (or equivalent - there are loads to choose from in Boots) in the bath, then dry your feet and apply loads of foot cream at night just before going to bed - Compeed foot cream is excellent, also Scholl - the only one I hate is Neutrogena.

A few days of intensive moisturising should help it heal, but carry on until the crack is completely gone.

oh painful! I think I'm going to buy that flexitol.

I can't rub any skin off it! There's not enough skin on it now! Ow! At the thought!

I don't think this is a normal cracked heel, because of losing a thick layer of skin with the blister.

What's flexitol?

The blister plaster is feeling ok, better than without it, anyway.
