Woke up at about 8 (days annual) feeling really sick. In and out of sleep until about 11ish where I threw up some green and yellow liquid.

Pretty much slept all day and now my stomach is exploding from the other end - I don't understand how there's anything left in my body.

The overwhelming tiredness is incredible.

I haven't eaten since about 4pm yesterday where I had mushrooms and a veggie roast.

Any thoughts? Definitely not pregnant! Currently staring at a piece of dry toast and some flat pop.

norovirus, covid, food poisoning. try and drink fluids if you can, don't take anything to bung yourself up, have you got a temperature.

JorisBonson · 28/11/2022 19:10

No temperature but some quite aggressive shivers. Had COVID followed by that lovely bug last month.

take your temperature when the shivering stops, the shivering can be a sign of a high temperature, can you take some paracetomol. Sounds like you have had a pretty miserable few weeks.

WaveyHair · 28/11/2022 19:12

Norovirus?

JorisBonson · 28/11/2022 19:14

@HappyHamsters it's been crap!

@WaveyHair I am really hoping not as I'm going to Paris at the weekend 😒 DH and the friend we ate with not feeling ill... Yet.

You have gastroenteritis of unknown cause. The green/yellow liquid is bile and is completely normal. Your gastrointestinal tract is very long and would take a good long while (around 24hrs or more) to be completely empty, so there may be more to come out of the bottom end! It will pass but it will make you feel wiped out. Just drink and rest. Milk is a good option, it has a bit of fat and protein, vitamins and minerals. It's basically nature's sports drink.

QuestionableMouse · 28/11/2022 19:15

It'll be norovirus. Utterly grim for a few days then you should be feeling better. Get some oral rehydration stuff and sip it. I find it goes down better if mixed with fizzy water.

HappyHamsters · 28/11/2022 19:19

if its either noro or covid then it's best you don't go to Paris, you have to be 48hrs clear of any d&v and you will feel miserable anyway, the last thing anyone needs is a runny bum on a flight, I hope you feel better soon, it's miserable I know.

JorisBonson · 29/11/2022 13:28

So whatever that was appears to have been a nasty 24 hour thing and I'm pretty much back to normal today - tired and still can't face food but otherwise fine! How strange.

Thanks for all the replies, I was feeling really sorry for myself 🤣

We’ve all had the same OP. Some kind of bug. My 6 year old was violently ill 3-6am Saturday and that was it! The rest of us have been longer and slower to recover. It’s the second such bug we’ve had in the last 4 weeks. Utterly grim!

JorisBonson · 29/11/2022 18:08

@Hunkydory99 it's horrible. I'm still not 100% but have forced a couple of bowls of soup down and hope that and sleep does the trick!
