well I got rushed to A + E ON Saturday with scary chest pains and achy left arm

to be told I had a temp of 38.7 put on oxygen and antibiotics steroids ecg etc I am only just over 40

The consultant said it was a viral chest infection plus inflammation /infection of the pericardium pericarditus? and has only allowed me home if I rest completely.
I am shocked I get dizzy going to the loo I feel ok still butI am sleeping alot in the day and just generally feel rubbish loss of appetite I dont even fancy chocolate!!

Any body else had this ?
I missed my dd3 parents evening I want to feel better my DH is being fab got time offto look after kids but feel so ???

Sounds really scary! I don't know anything about pericarditis, but am bumping for you and wanted to wish you better soon. Resting does sound really important, glad you have your DH home.

FWIW I had these symptons about 5 years ago now and was rushed to A&E the dr's were baffled and did a chest xray and blood gases ecg etc etc

However in the end they put it down to a chest infection, indegestion or a panic attack .

I do still get the tingly arm and shooting pain when I am stressed or have over indulged.

I do hope it turns out to be something as simple as this but I can understand the shock it terrified me

I cannot feel sorry for my self though as my dd3 came home with the news that her friends mum has died and her friend is having a couple of weeks off.
counting my blessings -still feel queasy and soo tired but at least I am here for my dds it has really upset me and made me think a little too much about my mortality

She has left another little girl the same age as my dd4 we both got our letters for them starting school next sept.
