Immune system is weak. Is it breastfeeding or post Covid?

Hello all. I just wanna know if anyone is having the same experience. I'm extending breastfeeding (my child is 14 months old now). In June I had covid. And since then I'm having a cold and coughing every other month. All I need is just to get a bit cold (physically) and boom next day is scratchy throat. And couple of days later is cough. I'm so tired of this. Since September I'm sick every other week. I was thinking what if breastfeeding makes me weak? Or is it post Covid? Idk. I just thought maybe there is someone who is also feeling weaker than usual either because of breastfeeding or covid.

I'm in exactly same boat! Mines 13 months.
Since I've been b/f last year I've had flu, covid, sooooo many colds. I get them worse than everyone else. I don't get it ... I never used to get ANYTHING! X

I don't think bf weakens your immune system otherwise the human race would have died out millennia ago. Covid is known to have strange effects. Or perhaps it is neither. Maybe you are tired and run down. A good multivitamin might help?

I've been bf for nearly 4 years. Not quite what you describe but I regularly feel like I'm coming down with something (scratchy throat etc). Always put it down to my immune system kicking in to produce breastmilk antibodies. More recently I'm actually picking up colds and coughs regularly but my eldest is in preschool now so we're just in the peak germ fest stage.

Could it be your little one bring back germs for you to fight? I guess at 14 months your DC might not have been picking up quite so much last winter not being a crawler/walker?
