Is it normal for feet to swell sometimes?

I'm 35, no health problems, no medication, I do have health anxiety.

I have occasionally noticed after a night out when I have been wearing high heels that my feet and ankles are swollen when I get home. It doesn't happen any other time, I can drink alcohol in flat shoes with no problems, I can also stand for hours in flats with no swelling. No other symptoms at all.

I've convinced myself I have heart or kidney problems 🤣

Can this be normal?

Sounds completely normal to me.

Read back your post OP.

Swollen feet after a night in high heels shocker.

Yes high heels do make your feet swell if you've worn them a long time, they are restrictive eg straps etc. it's completely normal.

Do think about getting help for your health anxiety if you're not already.

@HavfrueDenizKisi I know, I did think this when I read it back!

Thankyou, I really appreciate the replies.

Swollen feet can be signs of other things (premenstrual water retention, blood pressure, other things,) but after a night in heels, I would assume it's just a night in heels.
