Low White Blood Count - can this be linked to Vit B12 deficiency

I am 57 and several years post menopause. I don’t take HRT tablets.
I had a general blood test on 13th October and my white cell count was 1.6. GP wanted the test repeated.
The last time my blood was tested was 18 months ago and it was 3.6.
I’ve had a full blood test repeated over a week ago and it’s come back again as 1.6. Had phone call with Dr - she says it needs keeping an eye on and wants another test 1st week of Jan and that too include B12 & folate check too. GP doesn’t think it’s anything too worrying but it needs keeping a check on.
I haven’t been unwell or anything this past year. Have had my covid & flu jabs all fine etc. GP did say previously when discussing my very first blood test that the test showed my body was having to work hard to produce Thyroxine and I’ve got to have that tested again in 6 months.
Could any of this be linked?
Could it be linked to menopause?
Apparently if it goes as low as 1 I will be referred to Haematology. Just a bit worried really and wondered if anyone had had similar issues.

Do not take b12 tablets in order to get a true test result. The nhs is dire in regards to b12. Their acceptable range is lower than other countries so you can be ill with low b12 and the nhs will claim you’re fine. Saying that, if your tests come back low you’ll be entitled to 6 injections over 2 weeks, depending on your intrinsic factor you might also be entitled to three monthly injections also. This would be regarded as under treating in some countries. Failing that lots of people manage their own injections through German suppliers. There are some knowledgable Facebook pages which may be of interest.
