My daughter got HFAM last Friday, she is luckily clear but I have received a whopping dose of it.

Started Tuesday with a bit of a sore throat, then continued Wednesday into fever and sore throat. The blisters started yesterday in my mouth, hands, up my nose , on my nose and they are getting unbearable! Feels like pins and needles all over my feet and hands and mouth feels like glass. The blisters have affected all my eczema point and piercing points. I don't actually feel too unwell until the night/evening, but the symptoms are just so awful.

For any adults that have had this, what was your progression like, how long did this last?

Thanks in advance

I caught it from my DT when they were two. Much empathy. Just ensure that paracetamol & Ibuprofen is every six hours. Don’t wait until everyone feels like crap to take it. It’s more effective if taken as scheduled. Also gargle bicarb soda (tastes like shit but really helps soothe mouth and throat) - you can also do a nasal rinse with diluted bicarb (couple of teaspoons in a glass of warm water. It’s much gentler (stings less) than salt water and more effective for soothing.) Same with sits baths if you have it in your bits or your bum. (Rinsing with bicarb water after peeing helps relieve the stinging too.) Plenty of hot drinks like tea, lemon and honey, etc. That encourages circulation to throat and helps white blood cells carry away ooky germs in that area. Also obviously keep fluid intake as high as possible.
Bad news… The virus is still contagious in faeces for up to two weeks after symptoms disappear. You need to be über hygienic with toilet cleaning (bleach was my go to) and hand hygiene.
